Mayor Ben Walsh name Kenton Buckner the next chief of the Syracuse Police Department today.
During Chief Hawkins’ tenure in Albany, he has prioritized strengthening police-community relations, the health and wellness of employees and the recruitment and retention of personnel.
At a news conference at Yakima City Hall today, Yakima City Manager Cliff Moore announced he has selected Matt Murray to become the next Yakima police chief.
The city made the announcement Friday, after a months-long nationwide search by Public Sector Search & Consulting. Payne is a nearly 33-year veteran of the Grand Rapids Police Department.

City Manager Jane Brautigam announced that Maris Herold, police chief at the University of Cincinnati Police Division will serve as Boulder’s new police chief. Herold is Boulder’s first female police chief and begins her new position April 20. See more…
