Mr. Kenton Buckner joined Public Sector Search after a 29-year career in policing that includes serving as the Chief of Police in Syracuse, NY, and Little Rock, AR.
Kenton began his law enforcement career in 1993. He served twenty-one years for the Louisville Metro Police Department, where he rose to assistant chief, holding critical operational and administrative positions.
He is known for being a strong leader and change agent and brings his unique, no-nonsense style to the police recruiting profession. Kenton’s focus is recruiting for larger cities and advising and coaching prospective candidates. He holds both Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from Eastern Kentucky University. He graduated from the FBI National Executive Institute, Southern Police Institute, and NOBLE’s Chief Executive Officer Mentoring Program. He also completed Harvard University’s Senior Executives in State and Local Government Program. Kenton is also a past Commissioner for the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). Mr. Buckner is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE). He is a mentor to prospective police chiefs.
